Hello everyone, I’m Demi Daman, a long-term resident of Mount Vernon, WA, and I’m running for the Mount Vernon City Council at-large position as a non-partisan. I believe leadership should embody the values of service, community, and trust. I live these values every day—as a licensed Massage Therapist, and a Licensed Practical Nurse. More importantly, I use these same values in my current Civil Service Commissioner position for the city of Mount Vernon.
I am a wife and mother. My husband Troy and I have been married 29 years and have two amazing sons—Tanner, who is graduating from BTC this year while keeping a part-time job, and Tripp, a politically engaged high school student who inspires me with his drive to make a difference. My family is my foundation, and they remind me every day why our community deserves thoughtful, compassionate, and hardworking leadership.
Through my work as a nurse, as a massage therapist, Civil Service Commissioner, and through volunteering, I’ve seen firsthand what our residents face—housing issues and resources, public safety, and financial concerns with taxes and the city budget. As your candidate, I am committed to bringing progress and innovation to Mount Vernon while still recognizing its rich history and culture, ensuring the voices and needs of the citizens are always heard. I believe we have what it takes to make a real difference in this city, and I'm proud to be running to represent you.
Let’s build a stronger, more connected Mount Vernon—together.
